Thompson News & Events

Each classroom at Thompson has one or two Room Parents who volunteer to support the class teachers and specialists. Room Parents communicate important class and PTO information to families, organize supplies for special class projects, organize class celebrations, recruit volunteers, and organize class gifts for the teacher.

The Dentist is Coming to Thompson

January 3 & 4, 2019

The dentist is coming to Thompson Elementary January 3rd and 4th 2019. Please fill out the form sent home with your student and turn it in to Nurse Christina or Vicki Rose if you would like your child’s teeth cleaned. Community Card

Over 1500 cards sold to date! November is our last big marketing push, and with the holidays approaching, it’s the perfect time to use “makes for a great holiday gift or stocking stuffer!” when chatting the card up around town. Cards can be purchased anytime at The Book Rack, at Menotomy Beer and Wine, or online via PayPal at www.arlingtoncommunitycard.org. Thompson parents can also purchase cards from Ms. Vicki at the front desk and from Family Sales sellers.

AEF’s Annual Fall Fundraiser

Monday, November 19th, 6-8 pm @ Tryst – 689 Mass Ave, Arlington
RSVP‘s still welcome
Suggested Donation: $100/person; $150/couple

Please join us as we raise a glass to recognize recent AEF grants and look ahead to an exciting 2018-2019 school year!  Guest speakers include Brian Meringer, Principal of Ottoson Middle School & Kristin DeFrancisco, Principal of the Gibbs School. Live music, hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar. Can’t attend the fundraiser? You can still donate!

Community Forum To Quit Smoking

Tuesday, November 20th, 7-8:30 pm @ Robbins Library Community Room
Free hypnosis and behavioral modification workshop to help smokers and vapers quit for good. REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED.

Arlington Treble Chorus and Arlington Elementary Orchestra Concert

Monday, December 17th, 6 pm @ Arlington Town Hall
The all-town elementary treble chorus is open to all 4th and 5th graders from each of the Arlington elementary schools. The concert will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
