The primary goal of the PTO is to enrich and supplement the education and experience of all Thompson students during their time at the school through enrichment and events. In order to support these goals, the PTO must raise money through direct donations and fundraising. The PTO anticipates spending $100 per student throughout the year; every donation helps! The Arlington Community Card
The Arlington Community Card is Thompson’s most important fundraiser that raises nearly a third of our entire budget. The card offers amazing deals at more than 35 local shops & restaurants and helps us raise money beyond the parent community. This card provides discounts at your local stores and restaurants for an entire year beginning each September. Direct Donation Drive 2025-2026
Unlike some PTO fundraisers where only a portion of the proceeds from your purchase goes to the PTO, your financial contribution today will go directly into the PTO budget. While the other fundraisers certainly help, your direct donation ensures that 100% of your intended support goes to those activities that enhance our children’s school experience. Did you know that this year you may be able to double your donation without any additional cost to you? The Thompson PTO is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization! Many companies will match tax-deductible contributions made by their employees and some will provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift! Check with your employer to see if you have a matching gift program!

As part of the MySchool program, every time you make a purchase at Maxima Gifts in Arlington Center, 5% of the pre-tax sale price goes to your school of choice.
