Where To Purchase the Card
- At Arlington Town Day: In-person sales of the Community Card will begin at Town Day in mid-September. Look for the Thompson PTO booth or for PTO volunteers in the turquoise aprons.
- From Thompson School families around town: After Town Day, ask caregivers you know who have students at Thompson to bring Arlington Community Cards for purchase.
- Remotely: Online via PayPal ($10.00 + fee). Click the “Buy Now” button below. Allow 1-2 weeks for shipping and handling.
- In person: At The Book Rack (13 Medford St.) or Quad Cycles (1043 Massachusetts Ave.)

What is the Arlington Community Card?
It’s a hard plastic card that fits right in your wallet, costs only $10, and grants you the listed discounts at the participating Arlington businesses, all year long! It is a fundraiser for Thompson Elementary School.
Wow, can I get the discounts every time I go to these businesses?
YES, use it again and again! You DO have to present the card at checkout to get the deals, though, so just remember to keep it in your wallet, glove box, or any convenient place that works for you. You can even punch a hole in the corner and carry it on your keyring if that makes it easy.
What a great deal. I’ll make that $10 back in a snap with a few transactions. Is there an expiration date, though?
New cards debut every September and are valid through Sept. 30th of the following year.
Is there a deadline to purchase a card?
No deadline, but the sooner you acquire one, the sooner you can start saving! Note that typically we launch new cards at Town Day in mid-September. After Town Day, you may purchase cards online as well as in person at The Book Rack or through Thompson parents. Cards will also be available at select Farmers Market dates this year.
Do you have to be an Arlington resident to buy and use the card?
Not at all! ANYONE who shops and dines in Arlington can use this card. The card is a great gift for friends and neighbors, too. 🙂
Is there a card limit per household?
No limit. Buy one for every consumer in the family if you like.
Where does the $10 go?
Thanks to generous sponsorship from East Cambridge Savings Bank, 100% of it goes DIRECTLY to the Thompson Elementary PTO to help support enrichment for each and every student such as field trips, author/artist visits, extra classroom supplies, etc.
