|Welcome Back to School Breakfast
||On the first full day of Kindergarten, all Thompson parents are invited immediately after drop off to have coffee and a baked good and connect with the parent community.
|Town Day | Arlington Community Card
||Thompson School parents volunteer to sell Arlington Community Cards at the school’s booth during Arlington’s Town Day.

||In partnership with Coffee Pond, the PTO organizes Picture Day at school.
||Once a year the community gathers to watch a family movie. Kids come in their pajamas, set up sleeping bags and pillows on the floor of the gym and enjoy popcorn and a movie. Additionally, pizza is sold in the cafeteria before the movie plays.

||Once a year we partner with a Book Fair vendor (Scholastic or Best Bookfair) to support Literacy at the school. Children and teachers make wish lists during school and everyone is invited during after-school hours to make their purchases.

||In conjunction with the Book Fair, we organize a family evening event to encourage the love for reading. Previous events have included games such as book bingo, spelling bee, acting out stories and make-your-own book mark.
|Winter Parent’s Party

||Held annually at the Arlington Center for the Arts (ACA), volunteers transform the ACA into a fabulous locale for a night out for parents and friends. Music, dancing and delicious food and drinks.
||In this event, families are invited to come to school to play board games with friends and and have cookies and hot cocoa. Local company Gamewright provides demo games and games to sale.

||This large -scale event offers children multiple hands-on experiment stations, food, entertainment and our re-known raffle baskets.

||This long- standing Thompson tradition is our way to celebrate the amazing diversity at our school It includes: International Cafe, World Expo, Fashion Show, Raffle Baskets, Arts & Crafts, and Entertainment.
|Ice Skating Party
||Before the cold season comes to an end, we hold a pizza and ice skating party at the Ed Burns Arena Rink in Arlington.
|Teacher Appreciation Week
||The PTO organizes school-wide activities to show appreciation for teachers: special lunches, coffee, desserts, flowers and other gifts.
|Family Picnic in the Park
||To close the year, we get together outside for a family picnic. Some highlights are: bouncy houses, a cafe walk, a dunk tank, an ice cream sundae station and other carnival games.
|5th Grade Graduation

||The PTO supports 5th grade parents as they celebrate the graduation of their children with such events as a luau, a dance party, yearbook, tshirts, etc.

||Immediately following the graduation ceremony, 4h grade parents organize a brunch for the 5th graders and their families.
