Thompson Drama Project Volunteer Opportunities! The Thompson Drama Project is presenting two different productions of The Phantom Tollbooth on April 7, 8, and 9. Our kids have been working hard, and as we are an entirely volunteer-run organization, we need some help to pull it all off!

We have a few openings remaining for fifth graders interested in joining the backstage crew. Please email thompsondramaproject1@gmail.com for more information if you are interested.

We need parent volunteers for tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances. You can sign up here. You can also volunteer to help gather props for use in the shows—sign up here.

To provide our students with this amazing experience, we have costs associated with putting on the plays—buying rights to shows and purchasing scripts, creating the set, props, and costumes we use, printing the playbill and actor head shots, as well as a well-deserved cast party to celebrate our achievements. We greatly appreciate donations to keep the tradition going. You can donate by cash, check, or PayPal. Checks can be made payable to Thompson School PTO – Drama Project! Checks can be returned to school, or mailed to our treasurer, Lauren Ledger, 169 Franklin St, Arlington, 02474 Or use our PayPal account with a note “Direct Donation”: https://www.paypal.me/ThompsonDrama

PLANT A STREET TREE!
This spring the Town of Arlington wants to plant 50 new street trees in the Thompson School area (out of 150 total new trees being planted in Town this spring). Request one now – click this link! The Tree Warden will select an appropriate tree for the location, and the Town will plant it with a Gator bag for watering. You’ll just need to water the new tree for a few growing seasons so it can get established.

If you have any questions, please email Phil Tedesco at philip.tedesco@gmail.com.
Stories! Movement! Art! @ Gore Place
Want something to do during April school vacation? Stories! Movement! Art! will provide students in grades 3-6 the opportunity to tell stories through their art! By using low-tech materials, we’ll create art that physically moves or uses optical illusion to showcase movement! This program runs Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 19 from 1-3:30pm. The program will take place inside the Carriage House at Gore Place in Waltham (the large building next to the parking lot). This program is $20 for the whole week, or $5/day. Tickets: https://art-workshop.bpt.me
